The Irish owners, Michael & Seamus purchased the property in 2019 after appearing on the popular TV programme 'A Place In The Sun'. The house has been completely renovated and finished to an exceptionally high standard whilst retaining the traditional Andalucian character. Unusually for a central village house Casa Olivo enjoys lots of outdoor space including a beautiful mosaic tiled pool, a landscaped garden and large roof terrace, a Moroccan courtyard and a useful outdoor kitchen with gas barbecue and fridge. A perfect place to relax and spend the day or to have as your oasis to return home to after a day in the mountains or on the beach!
Michael & Seamus have now moved permanently to the area and have renovated a stunning villa just outside Canillas de Albaida and a 15 minute walk from Competa. As well as being their home, a separate level at El Olivo is a wonderful boutique Guest House with 3 spacious and luxurious en-suite guest rooms, a comfortable lounge, sun terraces, a large pool and breathtaking views. Accommodation is offered on a B & B basis, or as exclusive rental of the guest accommodation which is separate from their own living accommodation.

About The Area
The traditional whitewashed villages of Cómpeta and Canillas de Albaida with their narrow streets and quaint squares are unspoilt and sit on the edge of the stunning Tejada, Almijara & Alhama Natural Park making them an excellent base for walkers and cyclists. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and tapas bars and a number of fiestas are celebrated throughout the year. There are a good variety of shops including supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, green grocers, chemists and gift shops.
Every Saturday there is a colourful market in the Cómpeta. Cómpeta also has an interesting museum and in the centre you’ll find the landmark church (La Iglesia de la Asuncion). Canillas also has 3 beautiful churches and a lovely Plaza with regular live music. Half an hour takes you down to the coast where you will find dramatic coastal drives, miles of sandy beaches, seafood restaurants and towns like Torre del Mar, Torrox, Nerja and La Herradura. Alternatively explore other white villages set in the breathtaking Andalucian mountains.
The historic and beautiful coastal city of Malaga and its airport are about an hours’ drive away and Granada with The Alhambra can be reached in about 90 minutes. The locals (Competeños and Canilleros) are friendly, fun and proud of the area - and rightly so!
We are happy to assist with car rental or airport transfers. We can also recommend local tour and outdoor pursuit companies and organise bike or e-bike rental, massage, yoga and other activities. Cómpeta & Canillas De Albaida can also be reached by bus from Malaga. We are happy to help you organise a bespoke holiday based at either Casa Olivo or EL Olivo
